Dr. Marion Romes is an executive advisor operating at the intersection of aviation, regulation and law, corporate governance, strategy, and human performance. As a lawyer, mediator, coach and executive leader, she supports organisations in highly regulated environments in building governance and leadership structures that enable safety, reliability and sustainable performance.

Her guiding belief: good corporate governance is not defined by structures alone, but by decision quality, accountability and leadership behaviour. She translates complex regulatory and legal requirements into workable governance frameworks, robust decision-making processes and resilient leadership cultures—always keeping the human factor in focus as a central driver of safety, risk management and performance.

Drawing on many years of experience in CEO and board environments, Dr. Romes understands the realities of liability, oversight, risk governance and decision pressure. She brings this perspective into build-up and transformation situations, where compliance, operational effectiveness and culture must be designed together from the start.

Before joining GMP as an Executive Advisor, she served for more than a decade as in-house counsel at Deutsche Telekom, working in the CEO Corporate Office and the Supervisory Board Office, and previously in regulatory strategy and public affairs roles. Her responsibilities ranged from preparing and managing board and committee decisions to advising top leadership, ensuring compliance with the German Corporate Governance Code, and shaping regulatory strategies at national and European level.

In addition to her corporate career, she led the Chitama Coaching Academy (2020–2024), focusing on leadership coaching, mindfulness-based programmes, mental health, and mediation—experience that enriches her work with organisations operating in high-performance and high-responsibility contexts.

Dr. Romes holds a doctorate in European regulatory law (magna cum laude), an LL.M. in information law, and is certified in mediation, mindfulness in organisations, and life & business coaching.
